but will we get to see all six?
star wars is returning to theaters in glorious 3d!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes, i know, it is phantom menace. okay, lets deal with this right away. the prequels are not like the original trilogy: i should hope not! film making and storytelling has changed since the original trilogy not to mention the change in the setting. you need to have a peaceful republic for palpatine to manipulate and you need to have an innocent boy to grow up to become the tragic anti-hero darth vader. jar jar: okay, i will give you that one, i can not defend jar jar. qui-gon was right, he has no intelligence. darth maul: awesome, no complaints here but had to mention him because he is awesome. if for no other reason, you should return to the theater just for darth maul.

yes, that is my character, a level fourteen sith marauder with a lightsaber in every fist baby :)
the cover of pc gamer magazine number 223 for febuary 2012 promised a “launch guide from day one to level 50″ of this new game i love so much. i was very interested in knowing how to improve my gameplay so i picked it up immediately. the magazine does provide a launch guide for the game, sort of. for levels one through ten it gives you a brief description of the various character classes. for levels ten to fifty it provides links to websites showing there recommended skill tree chooses for the various character classes. related pages included brief descriptions of the planets available, companion npcs and tips for a single pvp arena bringing their launch guide to a total of ten pages. do not buy this issue for the so-called guide, just follow these links instead and you will get all the tips they provided.

UPDATE: 1/19/2010-
now that the game has become free to play, even the software has been made freely available and can be downloaded from their website at startrekonline.com
come january 17, 2012, starfleet academy will open it’s doors to all of the federation, fully embracing star trek’s noble position of abolishing currency. yes, star trek online goes free to play! i imagine you will still need to make the initial software purchase but beyond that there is no purchase necessary. seriously no further payment required. you get two character slots, and full access to all quests, raids, content, locations, etc. there are only a few limits placed upon free players compared to subscribers or lifetime members and there are a few benefits added to the paying accounts. if i were not a lifetime member i would seriously consider moving down to a free account because you really can play everything. from a lifetime member position i am worried that too many people will move down to a free model and put the game in jeopardy.
